KCPM Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What are the requirements to complete the "New" KCPM program?
A. Eligibility and curriculum are available in the KCPM Handbook (PDF - 273 KB).
Q. Do you still have to have the Certificate of Management Fundamentals (CMF) before you can apply for CPM?
A. No, the CMF is not mandatory, however it is strongly recommended and we encourage agencies to take it into consideration when nominating candidates into the KCPM program.
Q. I’ve previously completed my CMF will it count toward any hours in the CPM?
A. No, we were not able to accommodate the CMF Competencies into the new program.
Q. Will there still be a Certificate of Management Fundamentals (CMF)?
A. Yes, the CMF curriculum is discussed in the Course Catalog (PDF - 795 KB) on page 23 and 24.
Q. If I am accepted into the CPM program under one cabinet and then transfer to another cabinet can I finish the program?
A. GSC has no policy that would remove a candidate for transferring from one cabinet to another. GSC also has no authority to require cabinets honor the obligations of another cabinet. We would hope the employee can articulate the value and negotiate with their new agency to allow them to continue.
Q. Will program participants be pre-enrolled into GSC workshops?
A. No, participants will be personally responsible and accountable for ensuring their enrollment into workshops.
