Overview
The Office of Human Resource Planning and Diversity Initiatives is responsible for implementing the states' Affirmative Action program and monitoring Equal Employment Opportunity compliance including monitoring the investigation of complaints concerning unfair treatment, conducting consultation in the areas of EEO/Affirmative Action, recruitment, and retention as well as the implementation and assessment of diversity initiatives involving the identification of workforce and cultural competency for state agencies, in addition to the design and facilitation of inclusion, EEO, and sexual harassment prevention training. This office consists of two organizational units:

- The Division of Equal Employment Opportunity

The Office of Human Resource Planning and Diversity Initiatives offers the following services:
- Diversity Training and Resources. Agency executives, managers, and supervisors are offered diversity training and resources to assist in achieving the Commonwealth's goals of diversity in the workforce.
- EEO Complaint Process. The workforce of the Commonwealth of Kentucky is provided a clear and accessible procedure for making Equal Employment Opportunity complaints and seeking equitable solutions including investigations and final findings.
- EEO Education and Training Resources. The Office of Human of Resource Planning and Diversity Initiatives facilitates continuing EEO education and training by providing the Annual Governor's EEO Conference. This statewide educational conference focuses on EEO compliance, current legal HR developments, and workforce diversity issues.
- Coordination and Implementation of Diversity Initiatives. The Commonwealth and it's agencies are offered diversity initiatives and programming such as; the Annual Governor's Diversity Day, minority recruitment initiatives, data compilation, and EEO workforce analysis.
- Affirmative Action Accountability and Statewide reporting. Agencies are assisted in their affirmative action accountability and reporting.
