Substantiating Expenses When Using Your HumanaAccess Card |
 |
The IRS requires that 100% of all claims be verified or substantiated. Most claims are automatically substantiated through the claims system and you will not be required to provide any documentation. Some claims, however, will require substantiation. If Humana does not receive substantiation within thirty (30) days after you swipe your HumanaAccess Card (HAC), then Humana will request substantiation. If the substantiation is not received within 30 more days (for a total of 60 days from the initial HAC swipe), then claims processing will be suspended. This suspension will include the use of the HAC as well as any reimbursements for traditional paper claims.
