2009 Plan Year

The Department of Employee Insurance (DEI) is responsible for administering health insurance benefits to state employees, local boards of education employees, quasi governmental agency employees, retirees of the Kentucky Retirement Systems, Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System, Kentucky Judicial Retirement System and the Kentucky Legislative Retirement System. Over 245,000 individuals receive coverage through the Kentucky Employees Health Plan. The DEI also administers the Flexible Benefits Plan for state and local boards of education employees.
